1984 – A New Era for Bird Nutrition
Marion introduced Scenic Bird Food, the first complete manufactured diet for birds. Developed with innovative shapes, colors, and textures, it was tested for three years across more than 200 bird species in zoological institutions. From the beginning, Scenic Bird Food was produced using human-grade processes that ensured safety and palatability.

1988 – Innovation for Primates
We launched the world’s first complete manufactured Leaf Eater Food for primates, designed with high fiber and low carbohydrates. These diets not only supported health but also reduced feeding boredom with engaging shapes and colors. All formulas used plant proteins and natural, human-grade ingredients.

1989–1991 – Setting Scientific Standards

• Pioneered the safe inclusion of minerals and heat-resistant vitamins.
• Developed methods to predict and confirm vitamin stability.
• Published long-term research on leaf-eating primates, presented findings to leading zoological associations, and contributed to peer-reviewed science.
• Our Leaf Eater Brand for Panda was selected for the Red Panda Species Survival Guide.

1996–2004 – Expanding Horizons

• 1996: Introduced Mozaic Food for reptiles and shared findings at global nutrition conferences.
• 1998: Created the first Giant Panda Food, now used to raise pandas in captivity worldwide.
• 2003: First to add OMEGA fatty acids for improved immune response.
• 2004: Developed enrichment diets and treats for giraffes, elephants, anteaters, kangaroos, and bears.

2022–2023 – Raising the Bar on Quality
Today, Marion continues to lead with the highest standards:
